Tahawus Center Mural Unveiling: A Sense of Place
Announcing the official unveiling and artist reception for “A Sense of Place,” Tahawus Center’s Au Sable Forks Mural Project, on Saturday, September 30. Drop by between 4-5:30 p.m. In 2022, Tahawus put out a proposal for trompe l’oeil submissions. Today, we are excited and proud of the accomplishment by Saranac Lake artist, Georgeanne Gaffney, who reveals a view of a stone bridge over the West Branch of Ausable River gorge - under Main Street. The mural is located at the end of the grotto garden on the bulkhead between Tahawus and the Ausable Theater. But to discover it, you must go to the back (east side) of the Tahawus Cultural Center, through the Au Sable Forks municipal parking lot, just off Main Street.
Expect the unexpected! All are welcome to stop by, discover, and celebrate yet another hidden gem in Au Sable Forks. No admission fee.
