The Empire State Winter Games Torch Arrives in Lake Placid for Opening Ceremonies

The Empire State Winter Games Torch Relay is nearing its final stop! After traveling through over 20 locations across New York State, the torch will arrive in Lake Placid on Thursday, January 30, 2025, just in time to light the cauldron for the Opening Ceremonies.

Event Details:

• Arrival Time: The torch will arrive at Community Bank, N.A. (2040 Saranac Ave) at 3:00 p.m.
• Parade Route: From the bank, the torch will parade down Main Street to the Golden Arrow Lakeside Resort (2559 Main Street). Grab your spot along Main Street and witness the energy and spirit as the torch passes by. 

Opening Ceremony:

The torch’s journey will culminate later that evening at the Olympic Center, where the Opening Ceremony will begin at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, January 30. 

Athlete Village:

Located in the Main Municipal Lot on Main Street, next to the Olympic Center, the Athlete Village is the place to be for family fun! Enjoy hot chocolate, s’mores, sport activities, athlete interviews, a photo booth, and more!

• Friday, January 3, 2025, from  4-7 p.m.
• Saturday, February 1, 2025, from 12-7 p.m.

The 2025 Empire State Winter Games takes place January 30-February 2, 2025.
