DOUBLE BILL, featuring William Dilworth & Bill Evans
Two artists from Jay, NY come together for DOUBLE BILL, an exhibit featuring the art of William Dilworth and Bill Evans, friends who explore their response to the natural world around them through representational and abstract forms. The works featured vary in size and palette, always providing something thought provoking for everyone.
WILLIAM DILWORTH The New York Billharmonic, Under the Direction of William Dilworth
Dilworth’s artistic journey is about symbolic storytelling. Based in both New York City and Jay, his abstract works often originate from details of our natural world, such as a tree limb or a fingerprint presented on unconventional surfaces. His creations are organized into distinct series: Countmarks, Touchmarks, and Woven Limbs.
BILL EVANS The Wooden Sticks
For Evans, geography has played a major role in defining his work. His travels have taken him to both wild and urban environments in France, South America and New York State. He explores the landscape genre through both colorful paintings and wooden installations made from found material. Abstract and representational forms are blended to explore the contrasts between urbanization and wild existence.
