Located two hours north of Albany and two hours south of Montreal, the region is centrally located between major metropolitan areas. Accessible by car, bus, air, or rail, the Whiteface Region is a convenient and affordable year-round destination.

By car
From south: We are approximately two hours north of Albany. Travel north on I-87 to exit 30, turn left on state Route 73 heading toward Keene, then head north on Route 9N to Jay and west on Route 86 to Wilmington.
From north: We are located approximately two hours south of Montreal. Travel south on I-87 to exit 34, head south on Route 9N to Jay, then head west on Route 86 to Wilmington.

From west: We are approximately 3 hours, 45 minutes from Syracuse and 5 hours, 45 minutes from Buffalo. Take I-90 (NY State Thruway) east to Exit 36 (Syracuse). Pick up I-81 north and follow to Watertown. Take Route 3 and follow it east to Saranac Lake, then follow Route 86 east, through Lake Placid, to Wilmington.
From east: We are approximately 5 hours from Boston. Take Massachusetts Turnpike (I-90) to Albany. Pick up I-787 north to Cohoes. Connect with Route 7 west to I-87 north. Follow I-87 (Northway) to Exit 30, then pick up Route 9N and then Route 73.
- Visitors traveling through Vermont and New Hampshire will need to take a car ferry across Lake Champlain. Contact Lake Champlain Ferries (802) 864-9804 for more information.
Air travel
- Plattsburgh International Airport
Just one hour south of Montreal, Plattsburgh International Airport is conveniently located off New York's I-87. The airport is near the beautiful Lake Champlain and serves as "Montreal's U.S. Airport." - Adirondack Regional Airport

Located in Lake Clear, 16 miles from Lake Placid, the Adirondack Regional Airport offers easy access to the entire region. Daily flights between Boston's Logan International Airport and Saranac Lake as well as a daily flight to and from New York City’s JFK International Airport are available via Cape Air. - Lake Placid Airport

The Whiteface Region is within 2-3 hours driving time of three major airports: Albany, NY; Burlington, VT; and Montreal, Quebec. All are serviced by major airline carriers and have car rentals available.
By train
